Sanitasi Penyehatan Makanan Sebagai “Penghalau” Keracunan Makanan
Dari berbagai bentuk kemasan itu, tentu tidak sedikit kemungkinannya ada yang menimbulkan masalah keracunan makanan. Misalnya, ada beberapa jenis plastik yang mengalami pelarutan terhadap bahan dan jenis makanan tertentu. Selain itu, teknologi ini juga biasanya dimaksudkan untuk proses pengawetan atau menyimpanan makanan dalam jangka waktu lama. Di mana jika menggunakan cara tradisional, kita menggunakan bumbu-bumbuan (rempah-rempah) untuk mengawetkannya, maka sekarang digunakan bahan-bahan kimia (yang kadang-kadang kurang memperhatikan efek sampingnya).
Ketiga, faktor lingkungan (sanitasi). Penyehatan makanan dalam kaitannya dengan lingkungan dapat diartikan sebagai suatu usaha untuk mengendalikan faktor makanan, tenaga pengelola, tempat dan perlengkapannya yang dapat atau memungkinkan timbulnya berbagai penyakit dan gangguan kesehatan lainnya. Sehingga dalam usaha penyehatan makanan ini perlu diterapkan pengawasan terhadap prinsip hygiene sanitasi makanan, agar ketiga faktor tersebut dapat kita kendalikan.
Akhirnya, belajar dari terjadinya kasus “keracunan susu” di atas, maka sudah seharusnya pengawasan susu tersebut dilakukaan terhadap: (1) kualitas susunya sendiri, dengan maksud untuk memberikan gizi yang seharusnya dan konsumen terhindar dari berbagai kerugian yang disebabkan pemakaian susu yang mengandung mikroorganisme yang dapat menimbulkan penyakit. (2) Melakukan pengawasan terhadap faktor-faktor lingkungan yang dapat memengaruhi/mengkontaminasi kebersihan susu secara umum.
Jadi, bila hal-hal penyehatan makanan tersebut telah dilaksanakan dengan baik, maka saya kira terjadinya kasus keracunan makanan (akibat meminum susu) dapat dicegah.***
